Patrons and Artists): ‘Moved by divine rather than human inspiration, our dear and most beloved brothers Messer Gentile Bellini (at present our most worthy Guardiano da matin) and his peerless brother Messer Giovanni Bellini, in whose name the former also acts, are both desirous and avid to make a start… on the canvases which are to be done for the Hall of this our blessed Scuola.
